If it's billed collectively, be sure to fill out the Name and Address, etc.
fields. If the person gets a separate bill, it's not necessary to fill
them out here. Be sure to check the PPPoE box - it's not on by default.
2. Connect the wireless or connect to the
Ethernet port.
3. Windows XP. On the person's computer set up PPPoE.
It's done almost the same way a dial-up is created.
Windows XP: Start, Control Panel, Network Connections (you may
have to switch to Classic View or go through Network and Internet to get to
Network Connections).
Click on Create a New Connection. Next.
Set up my connection manually, Next.
Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and
password. Next,
ISP name is TurboNet (this is not critical). Next. Enter the
username and password.
If this is a laptop, un-check the box that says to make this your
default connection. Next.
You'll probably want to put a shortcut on the desktop (check the
checkbox), then Finish.
4. Windows Vista. On the person's computer set up PPPoE.
It's done almost the same way a dial-up is created.
Start, Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center
(you may
have to switch to Classic View or go through Network and Internet to get to
Network and Sharing).
Click on Set up a Connection or Network.
Click on Connect to the the Internet, Next.
Create a New Connection..
Broadband PPPoE. Next.
Enter the
username and password. Connection name is Cactus Computer.
Check Allow other People.... unless you have a reason not to.
Click the Connect button. At this point it will try to connect.
If it fails (for instance, because your cable is unplugged or your wireless
is not yet connected) choose Set up the connection anyway.
You'll probably want to put a shortcut on the desktop. To do this,
choose Manage Network Connections on the left, then right-click on
the Cactus Computer and create a shortcut.
5. Mac OS X (earlier versions) On the person's computer set up PPPoE.

Click OK and close the window.

Click the network icon from the top-right corner of the
your screen.
Click Connect/
Disconnect.
6. To configure PPPoE settings on your Xbox 360 console,
follow these steps:
Move to the System section of
the Xbox Dashboard.
Select Network Settings.
Select Edit Settings.
On the Additional Settings tab,
select PPPoE Settings.
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the PPPoE information that
was provided to you by your ISP.
Select Done.
Select Apply and
Test when you are prompted to do
this.
